If we want to talk about a game development studio with the most success selling its game IPs globally, it has to be Toge Productions. It is a game development and publishing company from Tangerang, Banten.
Coffee Talk is their most successful game so far, with dozens of awards and raving reviews on its main platform, Steam. Its successor, Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly, has already brought home three awards from SEA Game Awards, which are Best Visual Arts, Best Storytelling, and Grand Jury Award, even though it hasn’t been released yet.
Their publishing business is running well too. When the Past was Around, created by Mojiken Studio from Surabaya and published by Toge, won dozens of narrative and art category awards. Their next game together, A Space for the Unbound, is eagerly awaited by fans and brought home awards as well.
Consistent with its name which means “beansprout” in English, Toge also nurtures seeds of new game devs with its Toge Game Fund Initiative. The future is ripe for the Indonesian game industry with Toge leading the way.
